Find out more about some of the organisations that we aim to support, either with financial assistance or volunteers.

Sunflower Project

A US-based NGO founded by two Americans with deep connections to Ukraine. Their volunteers work out of the States, Mykolaiv, and Poland to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians and bringing supplies to soldiers. They collaborate with several other organizations, providing tons of toys, pet food, clothing, medical supplies, and a myriad of other needed items. One of their passions is helping to demine Ukraine in the liberated areas and it has four initiatives- 1. Education, 2. 3D printing of Russian mines and UXO, 3. Production of de-mining robots, and 4. Conducting aerial surveys of hazard areas. They provide that information to EOD teams and local communities free of charge. We have a close relationship with one of their lead volunteers and often share our resources with one another.

LBWS

LBWS is a street artist known for painting patriotic cat murals in many regions of Ukraine. His artwork features large, often smiling cats. (Cats are the unofficial symbol of Odesa where he mostly resides. When you visit Odesa, the beautiful city by the Black Sea, you will notice many cats who are often tended to and highly regarded by residents.) His artwork is on building facades, vehicles, and many other surprising places. The murals often depict symbols of Ukraine’s resilience in the War. LBWS is quite prolific on social media and people from all over the world will take pictures of themselves with his murals. Another one of his projects is that he spray paints soldiers’ or first responder vehicles with camouflage painting or with one of beloved LBWS cats. He never charges the soldiers for painting their vehicles and does so out of his own pocket. He also has raised funds to support soldiers with helping to buy vehicles and protective gear. We are friends with LBWS and have worked with him in the past.

Odessa Cat Crew

An animal rescue operation working primarily in Odesa (the cat is an unofficial symbols of Odesa). They rescue animals, provide veterinary care, support the many unsheltered animal colonies throughout Odesa, and provide pet food to people who care for animals in the region. Also, one of their big initiatives is spay and neuter programs and they also build small shelters to protect the animals from the elements through winter and summer. Every day, they deliver “War Day” updates of their efforts on social media, showing the many animals and people they support. Small organizations like this are worthy beneficiaries of funds, as they make big impacts on their community.

@canadalovesmykolaiv

A one-man operation founded by a guy from Canada. He has been working in the Kherson region almost exclusively and makes tasty barbeque food, homemade salads, and other special treats for the local population. Since the beginning of the full scale War, he estimates he has fed more than 170,000 people and he is one of the few people providing humanitarian assistance so close to the Front line. One of his most special accomplishments is hosting holiday parties for the local kids on Halloween and Christmas. He’s a Kherson celebrity of sorts and is determined to continue his mission despite operating in very dangerous situations.
