Find out more about some of the organisations that we aim to support, either with financial assistance or volunteers.

Kharpp Repairs

A British Charity focused on rebuilding in Kharkiv, one of the worst hit areas in Ukraine. They work on rebuilding homes, hospitals, schools, and community centers. In addition, they provide generators, portable power stations, and Starlink satellite Internet systems to villages which remain off grid. They also fill the gap in by making fuel runs to these communities, as a common problem is villages lack access or the means to procure fuel. They focus on long term solutions whenever possible. Notable accomplishments include more than 700 homes repaired, 16 villages or twins supported, and several repairing several other public buildings. KHARPP also collaborates with other NGOs we support.

Gurtum Charity Foundation

An association of volunteers based in Kyiv who work in the urgent restoration of housing and infrastructure in the de-occupied areas of Ukraine. Their activity has included restoring residential buildings, schools, and outpatient clinics. After buildings are destroyed, they assist in clearing rubble and cleaning the affected area. In the winter months, they have a program called, “Project Firewood,” which helps to purchase firewood or process the firewood for vulnerable people like the disabled, pensioners, and elderly. These types of programs are important because of ongoing power outages in regions of Ukraine.

Building Ukraine Together

This volunteer organisation has been restoring houses destroyed by the War since 2014. With more than 5,000 volunteers, they have formed teams to rebuild facilities, paint murals, beautification projects, and provide developmental programs for youth. Uniquely, they offer short- and long-term camps where both Ukrainians and international volunteers can be a part of an immersive experience to help rebuild, practise teambuilding and leadership qualities, and build community by encouraging volunteer work. They also have next steps which include the possibility to move into project management and mentorships. BUR specialises in coordination between international volunteers with special skills in construction and reconstruction, and local Ukrainian volunteers who have the skill set to navigate Ukrainian purchase and supply chains. One of the standout aspects of BUR is their long-term projects where volunteers are stationed to implement and manage activities involving Ukrainian youth.

Insulate Ukraine

Since the start of the War, millions of windows have been blown out by bombs and bullets. Insulate Ukraine came up with a unique solution which utilizes a new, simple design. Their windows are triple glazed polyethylene windows which are designed to protect against the cold, let the light through, cost $15 per square meter, and can be built at the home in 15 minutes from basic materials. They are able to transport 4,000 windows per truck versus 32 standard double glazed windows. This solution uses polyethylene, PVC piping, pipe insulation and duct tape. One of their notable projects includes installing 3,000 windows in hard hit Izyum and they also employ seven local residents, further bolstering the local economy. Insulate Ukraine focuses on the areas which have extensive destruction like Kherson, Izyum, Lyman, and Nikipol.
